With the support of first rate inspection companies, accredited by leading international bodies, the Armani Group has introduced a strict control system to ensure that its supply chain complies with the principle rules governing ethical-social behaviour, safety regulations in the workplace and respect to the environment.
For this purpose, it is going ahead with dedicated auditing programs by assigning to different audit bodies an adequate number of suppliers in accordance with defined identification criteria (area of origin, amount supplied and goods supplied).
The auditing process is subsequently structured for setting up planned controls with the support of inspection companies through the planning of review sessions and the handling of non-conformity issues.
During the first checks, an auditor flanking phase is included for the purpose of assimilating and bringing into the Group the appropriate knowledge for being able to perform the direct and effective management of company audits using self-assessment tools in the future.
In June 2014 a web based tool was introduced to gather information directly from suppliers about their production sites regarding compliance with social, environmental and security requirements in the workplace.
Using their personal access codes, suppliers can enter the platform and complete a self evaluation form with questions related to the company’s codes of conduct.
The result of the self evaluation and its related documents allows for critical issues to be identified and helps guide the supplier towards making any necessary corrections to continue to qualify as an Armani Group supplier.
